alternative to YouTube...
Our new website (launched last month) Rate my cam dance: Rate girls (and boys) dancing on cam. Submit your videos, or simply rate others'... offers an exciting alternative to YouTube, as it is far more targetted (though it is not specific to belly dancing), and you will therefore avoid some of the moronic comments you would otherwise get on other video sites.
You can view, rate, and submit dance video clips, and enjoy our social networking features. We welcome all types of dances, and -incidentally- we do not have many belly dancing videos at the moment, which would be particularly welcome ! I am no prude BUT ...To be perfectly blunt, I would not want any of my Bellydance videos on this site ( or anyone elses either)
 ..... so tacky, tacky, tacky! Ugh! I just don't understand young women putting themselves out there in such a manner, It may seem funny or "cool" right now, but these things can and do come around and bite you on the rear when you have moved beyond such idiocy .... this stuff is so not cool and they only let themselves down. What Mosaic and Lizaj said. All those bedroom pants dances make YouTube look quite classy. I don't think it's going to be attracting serious dancers looking for constructive critique, somehow...

"rules for submission: Keep it fun and sexy" How is this "far more relevant than youtube"??? Can we find Fifi Abdo on RateMyCamDance? I don't think so! Yuk!

If it is the wish of all those genuinely interested in ME dance to rid any connotations about this dance being about titillation for the small minded, then the word ,'cam' as in web cam needs to be avoided.
This website might have honest intentions, but the small minded will find it because of the inclusion of the word 'cam' and those there might become objects of titillation. Not something I believe will be wholly positive for the image of ME dance, and perhaps might go some way to reverse any positive thought built up by positive actions by others over the years. Then for those in front of a web cam, they might be dong their thing in the complete, possibly naive understanding someone wishes to view their artistic talent, the viewer might have other ideas. Rating dancers, what would a viewer be rating, the dance or the dancer. Those that receive anonymous negative ratings or less by others performance, why would people want to subject themselves to that.

I like the idea behind it- for those who practice at home to get some feedback.... but THAT is just yucky! Gosh why they all dance in undies anyhow???
