And nothing is guaranteed. I think the biggest example would be Mahmoud Reda's daughter! She had a show about 13 years ago during Ramadan where she was supposed to be dancing, singing and acting... but of course she could not do any of these things, just capitalizing on her father's fame.
And for us the viewers it meant 30 painful episodes to watch. I think that was her first and last time on TV.

Yes, because at the time we didn't have the many channels we have today, so options were limited.

And whether I/we had to watch it or not, that doesn't change the fact that it wasn't such a good piece of work (something nearly all the critics agreed on), or my opinion as an average viewer that it was painful to watch.
