Hi all
![]() Starting to upload some video's from the show we had for the World Bellydance Day in Greece. Last year we did a charity show, choreo's followed one after another and we raised 3.700 euro for the school of disable kids "Open Orizons" This years as we felt within the year the need of the audience for a big show with authentic arabic dance we tryed our best to make a musical, based on video's and movies from arab world. We kept the tickets to minimum to cover expenses (we didnt lol) 10 euro. Also I tought a free workshop on "Throwing your veil" and had the pleasure to have 20 + people in class, and also Lydia's lovely students ![]() On the night Lydia and her students performed at my studio at an amazing party beyond fantasy !!! The line that my students said while Lydia was dancing was: This night is written oriental history in Greece bellydance world. (its sounds better in greek lol) So here are some of the video's of the show, 2 more to be uploaded: YouTube - "Athens-Cairo Flight" WorldBellydanceDay, Maria Aya YouTube - "Athens - Cairo Flight" WBD 2008, Saidi Duet YouTube - "Athens-Cairo Flight" WBD 2008, Ahmed Fekry YouTube - "Athens Cairo Flight" Shamadan WBD 2008 YouTube - "Athens-Cairo Flight" WBD Wedding YouTube - "Athens - Cairo Flight" WBD 2008 Musical The idea we have for next year is an open fair something that havent happened till now in Greece with free lessons for oriental dance, free show's, cultural lectures on dance, and arabic kitchen and henna lessons. We can dream from now ![]() Maria Aya p.s. We all have to thank Lydia for this great idea !!!! Last edited by Maria_Aya; 05-23-2008 at 03:54 PM. |

I do agree with Moon, great videos as always. What I like most about your shows, Maria, is that they are rarely just a succession of acts/dancers. There is always something fun added, like this time the stage setting. Very cool!
