I am not a fan of Dina but I have to respect her as one of the most imitated dancers of her time. |

Ditto Marky.
Whenever I say that I have never been a fan of Randa's and that I can't watch her for more than 60 seconds without wanting to scream...people look at me as if I've lost my mind. I don't think this particular video is odder than any of her other videos. Regards Priscilla |

Dear Priscilla, I love her dancing, but I usually hate, Hate, HATE her costumes. I wish she would go to a different costumer and get stuff that is more flattering to her. Have you ever seen her 2004 ( I think it is) performances at Ahlan wa Sahlan? I think she is such a wonderful dancer when she is not doing so much Dina stuff, but I heard that she is really trying to imitate Dina these days, which is too bad because I think she has far more technical skill. I also like her emotional depth and connection to the music really well. ( Markito, I had to throw in my 2 cents here, Darling!) Regards, A'isha |

Hi A'isha,
Hmmm. Though her costume choices can be rather interesting at times I don't think that's what I dislike. Quite frankly it's her dancing. I have seen most of Randa Kamel's videos I think. I even own a performance video from her 2006 (?) U.S. show (the one sponsored by Little Egypt) where in one number she's wearing a tight royal blue mini dress and at one point she lifts her leg and points it straight at the audience....and you can actually see a little black triangle between her legs which I sure HOPE are her panties. ![]() I dunno....I just so dislike her ninja poses and downturned stiff hands and flat feet. So different from Samia Gamal's elegant arms, and Soheir Zaki's graceful hands, or Taheya Carioca's breathtaking shimmies. I'm afraid, as Marky said....I'll just never be a fan of Randa. ![]() Regards Priscilla Quote:

Dear Priscilla, I understand. I feel that way about a couple of dancers, too. I am not overly fond of Nagwa Fouad or Khaled Mahmoud or Heyertum! They each have some good attributes, but their overall dance styles just bother me. Regards, A'isha |

Yes Liza J... I heard so much about this off many many...
Back to Randa. I still do like her as I like strong dancers and in particular strong female types. I am not a fan of passive female coquettish stuff at all. There are not too many great dancers in Egypt right now although I just heard of a new one on the scene at the Sheraton Helioplois. We also have Basima (lebanese dancer on the Maxim) She is so surgically enhanced she looks like Joan Rivers and wears the most outragous costumes ever. Randa is still the most natural dancer we have in Egypt right now. Nancy is my second favourite and she has improved soooo much over the last few years. |

Dear Gang, And let us not forget about Liza Laziza who is a really nice dancer and not all ballooned up with body work, either. She dances at the Marriott down by the Pyramids and has danced in Egypt for about ten years. She is lovely on many levels, looks, intelligence, personality, has that Egyptian feel to her dance, etc. Regards, A'isha |
