The bit with the arm over behind the head with the elbow up - looked very familiar. My dad dozes off like that in his armchair, and me and my brother do the same thing.

(Yup, it does look waay better on Randa, in case you were wondering...).

I wish she didn't do that to her chest, all shoved up there and looking fit to burst.

Hmmm...

I was actually there on the night this clip was filmed and actually did really enjoy it (sorry all, am bracing myself for the verbal bludgeoning that follows disagreement)!

I hadn't seen Randa before, and hadn't been shown anything that did her much justice, so wasn't particularly enamoured. But watching her on the boat I finally thought "Ok, so now I get what the fuss is about!" Only to follow this thread when I got home... I'm so very very confused!

I'm not a fan of Dina. I saw Dina-esque qualities in her performance, but then I see them in most modern Cairo dancers, and I saw them in Randa in other clips too. What I liked about this performance was the athleticism & agility, but also the expression & the contrast.

Please please help me! Can you post clips you DO like of Randa by way of comparison? Will help me understand!

Dear Eshat,
I think that often, Youtube does not do dancers full justice and this might be part of the issue with this clip. I will continue to think she is fabulous!!
Regards,
A'isha

of course video clips wouldn't do any dancer justice.but i am unfortunate to see a fabulous egyptian dancers live, but at least i have options is to watch video clips, tapes, and DVD.

anyways...
my fave randa clips are:

1.i like this one because she is more in slow pace, relaxed and danced in the traditional way.

2.i want this Fahra tour DVD you get a much better, clearer randa on this one.i like this one because she is much more expressive and feels her nice intense energy.overall, she is eye candy! luv her! (forward to 00:34)

I have never been a fan of Randa and I don't think I ever will. However, that performance is really, really odd. The Dina "Walk" is everywhere and bizzare hopping is very strange.

I prefer "el Dina"

I like this clip of Randa dancing to Be'aad Anak. There are a few moves she does that I don't care for, such as her hopping back presenting her butt, and the large, externalized windmill arm leg raising moves, but overall I love Randa. I especially love the strength and fluidity of her torso movements and shimmies.

I watched Randa perform on saturday night at the midlands dance extravaganza and she was breathtaking--- just an incredible dancer. Youtube videos are not a true reflection of a persons ability, although I must say i think she is fabulous in all the videos i have seen of her including the subject of this thread!

She does this thing where she looks like she's taking a drunken grab at someone's pint? Then nearly goes arse over tit. What's that about?

It looks to me like her feet are sticking to the floor - maybe it's covered in spilt beer after too many pint-swiping incidents?
