Can someone point out some of the key features that make her a classic Egyptian dancer? I am trying very hard to learn to tell the differences (outside of costuming, naturally) I want to understand what makes her classic, over American Oriental, etc. I dio not mean that in any sort of negative way, I am trying to learn the nuances.
Thanks ![]() |

Nightdancer I to am just learning the nuances - to me it's about subtlety, relaxation, smaller movements, less of 'look at me' and more of 'feel the music', it's something to do with the shoulders too - just a bit 'tidier'?! I hope the others on the forum will help me out here if I've got it wrong!

Dear Night Dancer,
On my website in the library is an article called something like " A comparison and contrast of American and Egyptian belly dance". It gives a pretty adequate description of so,e of the major differences. (www,raqsazar.com) Regards, A'isha |
