Wow! He's fab, but I'm surprised he wasn't arrested for dancing in the street like that!

That's a fantastic demonstration of how small and contained Egyptian dance is - you can immediately spot a Westerner by the way they go running off around the stage in a flurry of movement with fussy hands and every move they can fit in.

So true suheir..it is a lesson to us all, there is absolutely no need to go bananas rushing round, you never see egyptians rushing anywhere !!

I didn't watch all of the videos in the beginning of the thread, but I ABSOLUTELY loved the guy's performance! If I only had a milligram of that talent!

Maria Shashkova's performance (with green costume) is so energetic!

This song had become so popular

Default And ... the winner is ....

Alf schukran wa mabrouk for this thread.

After I watched all movies which was quiete night-filling I dare to publish my point of view based on a scale 1 to 10 like in dance-competitions. I admit in advance that I myself have no clue at all and wouldn't deserve more than 1 point if I only would try.

08 : Brasil Egyptian= with feeling in music etc., let us also admit that he was the only lucky one with an appropiate camera management) according to his kind of dance and environment

7-8: Najla Nar (maybe she even danced better but bad camera management)
7-8: Maria Schaschkowa in green costume, found her very exciting

6-7: Sofia Sarkisyan in pink costume

5-6: Mayada al Khouri= guess her (beautiful) skirt and belt covered all her ?detailed/fine hip movements. At least to me she appeared like a Westerner. My big disappointment. A lebanese (Professional) dancing in an LBC-show: I really expected much more especially feeling.
5-6: Maria Schaschkowa young
5-6: Carol although I had no music with the clip

5 : Asmahan Medinat (light costume at market square)

4-5: Isis

4 : Sarah Nadirah= clear movements, proper choreo but significant deductions for costume and especially for her dead face
4 : Majel= choreo often not fitting with big gym and parts of music
4 : Sabaa

3-4: Meitel= deduction for colour of dress (black)

2-3: unknown home vid (?US-BDstudent)

1 : Amira= she made herself invisible. black clothes on black stage, black background, dark light - that's really haram. At least she she could have drapped her white scarf around her body? but mafi

what I was missing on everybody except for Brasil: they did not make the song itself alive - don't know how to say. lack of internal or mental correspondance between music, singing and dancer

Wow, so nice to have such a detailed review Thanks! You're absolutely right that camera management has an enormous role in the presentation!

Thank you for posting all that! My internet is slow so I might take a while to watch, but I am quite curious to see different interpretations!
