Is it the one from Oriental Fantasy? In that case I don't think it is downloadable and I wouldn't DARE sharing it after meeting the Cifuentes. Please respect their artistic work and buy the cd legally, that's my opinion.

I saw a post on Bhuz about the Cifuentes being quite annoyed about sharing and all that, and had said they were thinking of not even making anymore CDs/DVDs in the future.

It was stated that you can get their music from them, but people were saying it is difficult to buy from them for some reason. I believe somewhere in the UK it is available as well, and much easier to purchase.

Very true. And Aladdin's Cave has proven to be VERY EASY to use, they even take PayPal! (Lol, I'm recently discovering the use of PayPal it and am loving to be able to buy stuff online for the first time:D).

Aladdin's cave is totally trustworthy and fast! I don't have paypal but use my creditcard sometimes and it works great too.
Beata and Horacio takes paypal too, and checks and bank transfers. I went to their site to check. I have never bought anything from them directly so I don't know if it is difficult. After hearing their thoughts on the matter of people sharing their music I would say they are more than annoyed, rather devastated. It would be wonderful though if they could offer downloads at some point.

Wow, they are that uptight about it huh? I think its silly not wanting to share their music on the net, everyone else is doing it.

Ah well, thanks guys for the links and info!

Well do you want to work without getting paid? They said they had invested in music and dvd productions with hopes of getting it back someday and had thought of it as part of their pension but now they have to find some other way to finance their older days when they might not be able to travel and perform as much.
In case you mean sharing as in buying downloads then I agree, I would love that.

Thats a price on the fame of all artistic jobs. Its a lot of non-paying jobs and I think to take money for a piece of art takes away the magic of it.
If you got a talent, share it generously.

Yes that is sometimes the price of artistic jobs and a lot of it is unpayed. Doesn't mean it is right and that one shouldn't try to get ones work respected enough to be payed.

Seriously? Artists have to eat too.

Anyhoo, maybe you aren't paying for the Art, you are paying for the Craft.

:think:I have to say considering how prominent they are in the dance community and always seemingly quite good at the merchandise thing, I am quite surprised their music is not available for download on their site or another like amazon or is itunes or something. But then I'm not up on all the legal and processes non major label artists have to go through to do that... might not be worth the hassle... shame.
Perhaps making it more widely available would help decrease the amount of people illegally downloading it, obviously it wouldn't stop it, but maybe make it not so prevalent (who knows? I'm just thinking out loud). It's just sad to hear of them being so devastated:(.

I wonder if dancers who take music from artists illegally by download etc. without paying would also dance without asking to be paid. Seems fair that way, no? Or painters/visual artists giving away months of work for free.

I however think that is not the case. If one wants to be paid as a dancer for their artistry but doesn't want to pay for the music one is using, that to me is unfair. Surely the musicians wouldn't gain anymore funds to continue their activities, just as dancers would if they danced unpaid. Or is dance not the art we try so hard to make the audience believe it is?

Aladdin's cave IS easy, and I'm loving it!! Even me, a complete and utter online-shopping-dummy could order from them (and is waiting anxiously for her Yasmina of Cairo cd to arrive, after which she is planning to order more because it sure is easy!)

By the way, I think some musicians nowadays do offer payable downloads at a fair price. It should however be a price hat is fair for both artist and buyer. I've heard Mario Kirlis does it too but have not checked out wether it's true.
