Dear Miyu,

could you be more specific? Male or female singer, multiple singers, Egyptian, Lebanese, Western ring to it, folkloric sound.... Anything to help us along?

Its a pop song, male singer (and singers in the backround and singing the "dum dum tek-part" in the beginning).
Not sure but think egyptian.

Is it "Leila Helwa"? Khaled Mahmoud taught a baladi to it in Stockholm once. Maybe you were there too?

If it is that one, Gisela, it's available in the US version of iTunes on the album Momken Net'araf. Perky tune!

And, it reminds me of this one that a friend told me about. I LOVE this song, but I cannot find out much about it. If anyone knows, please share!

thanks,

Anala

ETA: found the record company's site, and the song, but, am hesitant to download. Has anyone used them?

I'm glad I could help :) The song is really catchy. I performed to it twice I think.
Lately I have become so annoyed with the egyptian teachers selling homemade mix cds without any information about the artists, sometimes even without the real song names

Edit:Sorry I should add that I got this song from such a cd. That's why I thought of it now.

IMHO it is both extremely annoying for music lovers and disrespectful of the composers, musicians and recording artists. How can they expect to be credited for what they do when they even don't bother to credit the music on which they rely on to make new choreographies?
