Leg problems...

I've been dealing with leg pain in my right leg for probably a decade or more - its particularly bad at nite. Long story short, its my Belly Dancing. I'm a right hipped dancer, and most choreographies use the right hip far more than the left. Over years, this has caused an imbalance in my musculature and flexibility. I stand on the left leg and swivel the left hip to make the right hip move. So the right never gets swiveled and my ability to do so is severely compromised. Yet my right hip is more flexible!

Just finished a bout of P.T. for this, and am doing exercises at home. And am using my left hip in classes a lot more, even when the teacher is using her right, I'll do most of the work with my left. Its getting better, but very slowly - which is to be expected as it didn't get this way overnite!

That's an interesting state of affairs, Zorba. Good on ya for figuring it out and finding helpful treatment. My practice as dancer and teacher was to exercise both sides equally and maintain a right/left balance in choreography. The arthritis in my left and right hips seems to be pretty well matched, so maybe good technique paid off: equal opportunity pain. :ROFLMAO:

Please be careful and don't hurt yourself when you mainly use just one hip over using both! :)
