Hi all. I’m based in Cambridge, England. I’m originally from New York. I’ve been rediscovering belly dance since last September. Many years ago I did weekly lessons with a lovely lady, Anji Jackson-Main, who studied with Suraya Hilal in London.
Now I just practice at home with DVDs from World Dance New York. I’m practicing ’tradional’ belly dance, but hope to develop enough to do some tribal style -I particularly love Kira Lebedeva, a dancer in Ukraine.
I also love vintage dancers -my favourite is Taheya Carioca.
I hope to learn more from you all and delve deeper into the history, music, styles.
