For further examples you can look up Buganda dance from Uganda and compare it to Kabyli Algerian dance and Ghawazee. Alo look at Achioli dance, Somali Nikis and you will see what i mean about the hips and torso being a thread that runs through Africa. One can not find the same amount of articualtion in that part of the body in Asian dances.

The other point I'm trying to make is that these movement vocabularies are unisex. It was only as a form of popular nighclub enertainment in the early 20th century that that aspect of dance in Egypt became exclusively female.
