No offense, but the costume was too slutty, and the lifting of the skirt was not cool at all. I am so tired of people bringing a bad name to this art form.
Well, having met her, talked to her, taken her workshops and seen her perform I don't believe for as second she brings a bad name to this artform. She is gracious, hard working and a very good dancer.
it can happen to all of us accident that the skirt go up to much when turning or ?? so accidents can happen don t think she ,,lifted it up on purpose why she would do that ? no need ...sometimes dancers dont dance in a new costume at home before wearing it on stage that can cause surprises aswell...the fabric will perhaps go in a way you did not expect...but for me it is not a plus to this dancing to show this short underwear i dont know just not flattering i realy prefer nice layers of fabrick that hiding at least 70% of the legs beside that it gives the dancers nice lines and flow on stage , so i am not that keen on ,the ,,short,, fashion......
I'm fan of well-covered legs and long layered skirts for just the reasons Lydia advanced. I've heard dancers say, "I've worked really hard to have a great figure; why shouldn't I show it off?" Okay. Why not become a stripper and make sure everyone gets a real good look?
Seriously, costumes are supposed to enhance one's performance. Accidents do happen, but if there is a question re: when the skirt is going to fall off or the boobs are going to fall out one's audience is probably not paying as much attention to the dance as one would like.
