Oh, this nonsense. There's an underlying motive here and it's that the Egyptian Morality Police and the Musicians' Syndicate have a problem with Hamo Beka and want to destroy him. Just the insanity that they accused Omar Kamal and Hamo Beka of disgracing Egypt by putting an unscrupulous video on YouTube in order to make money off it tells you what outdated alternative reality these people want to live in.

First, YouTube doesn't let people upload obscene stuff, and they encourage content creators to monetizing their videos.

Second, this is maximally engineered hysteria. When Omar Kamal, Hamo Beka, and their production team were getting ready to make this video in 2020, they debated Lurdiana's costuming. (There's information here https://elwatan.news/english/omar-k...and-i-killed-her-i-dont-want-misfortunes.html with Omar discussing the situation, but between the wonky translation and my inability to 100% follow his Arabic in the actual interview, I'm not completely sure what went down, but he talks about deciding to have her wear the jacket over the dress around 1:45 in the clip.)

Anyway, they shot the video and while it was still in production, Omar Kamal uploaded a bit for promo, and the freak out started--over how she was dressed, over her dancing, over Omar dancing with her "in an insulting manner"--so they scrapped all the video they had shot and replaced it with this one before the original video was even officially released

...but the freak out continued in full swing.

Up until fairly recently https://www.archyde.com/replacing-w...nsulting-egypt-after-a-party-in-saudi-arabia/, Hani Shaker and the Musicians' Syndicate had been willing to cut Omar Kamal slack because he was a "real" singer, not a mahraganat singer. In this clip, he's collaborating with another "real" singer, Abd al Basset Hamouda, but somehow this video doesn't insult Egypt's delicate sensibilities, even though they are gambling, apparently drinking liquor, and fraternizing with dancers in tight clothes.

(Also, put his suit in that old thread about mirror-shard costumes.)

And Lurdiana has been in a bunch of other music videos with Mahmoud El Leithy (the "Souq al banat" guy). He's another artist who went the traditional prove-you-can-sing-audition route at the Musicians' Syndicate, so he's also "real." Lurdiana seems to be doing the same not-Souheir-Zaki dancing in the same type of bodycon dress to a melody that is associated with children here, but somehow nobody got arrested in a fit of moral panic over this.

Which makes it seem like the Egyptian Arbiters of Virtue just have a vendetta against Hamo Beka, who is simultaneously the most popular and most hated singer in the country.

Finally, if you're curious, Lurdiana has a YouTube channel with an assortment of performance and instructional clips https://youtube.com/channel/UCMiU0-6bw9nHwULQ-O9tHIw/videos.

Oh no! I prefer the original. Felt more personal and genuine. The others appear to be more of the same type of dance. Thank you for posting Lurdiana's YouTube channel. Enjoying it now.
