I've had so many sinus infections that went into my ears over my lifetime that my hearing is utterly destroyed - and has been for decades. I don't know if this is a flu or a cold, but its just hanging on, and hanging on. Getting better by about 10% each day.
Ear infections are horrible things. My daughter had one that actually ruptured an eardrum. She called me late one night, crying with pain and unabe to get the meds the free standing medical clinic prescribed because the PA made a mistake and ordered an unusuaI variety of a common drug that was only available at a pharmacy over an hour away. I drove five hours to get to her, arriving about 4 a.m. and raised some hell until someone prescribed a more sensible preparation.
Howling wind tonight, about 40-45 mph here in the wind tunnel with higher gusts. Most of the roads out of town in all directions were closed most of the day due to black ice and low visibility. My daughter got out of town yesterday afternoon and said the roads going south were dry after being closed for a dozen hours. Wind-driven snow can cause so many problems; ground blizzards are no fun to drive in.
I took my grandson home to the ranch this afternoon. Snow had melted on the roads in town so to whom did it not occur it might not be melted out on the steppe? Highway was clear. Byway road was icy but passable. Dirt ranch road was snow packed but passable for the entire two miles thanks to some neighbor with a snowplow. I got stuck thirty yards into my son's driveway. He and his wife drive trucks which have more clearance than a Camry. Can you say high centered, boys and girls? Well, it was a good father-son bonding experience for son and grandson to dig and push my car out. Once enough snow was relocated, thirteen-year-old grandson proudly drove the car back onto the plowed road. I returned home with no further incidents. No, I didn't apologize. Fifteen or so years ago, then-teen-aged son pulled a stunt on snow in a truck that led to me telling him, "I'll get you some day, just you wait." He can now consider himself got.
