41 degrees, but so windy that it feels like 25 degrees. When I took the dogs walking yesterday, I didn't have nearly enough head protection and almost froze my ears off. Silly me, I thought a headband and hood would be enough. Today: ski hat.

Yesterday we got 35 cm of snow in just two hours. The timing of the blizzard was perfect for the afternoon rush of people going home from their day jobs. I had to stop the car several times as I couldn't see the road (or whatever was) ahead of me.

Currently, -9C , the moon is up and and the surroundings are a true winter wonderland. :D

It sounds beautiful, Daimona. Perfect weather to stay home and weave. ;) Partly sunny, 35 F, 20 mph wind here. We're supposed to get weather this weekend.

Today we got rain, and where I work, it was mixed with sleet. So far, we've had pretty decent weather in the forties mostly, a couple of days in the twenties and thirties, but little to no snow. I have my Jeep but I always worry about The Other Guy Driving.

...always worry about The Other Guy Driving.
As you should. Having been hit TWICE this year by idiots not paying attention has pretty much ruined driving for me - I don't want to go ANYWHERE. And I apparently can't even blame smartphones for the accidents - certainly not the 2nd one, and probably not the first one either.

Some of the worst weather I ever drove in involved downpours of rain so heavy that I was effectively driving blind. My son saw his first such downpour in Okmulgee, Oklahoma when we were on our way home from a trip to Texas. More rain fell in half an hour than we get in half a year in Wyoming, and there was more water running down the highway than some of our rivers. Blew him away.

We’ve had a cold front move in the last week. It put me down hard with both the arthritis and fibromyalgia. Day time temperatures are in the 40’s F, nights below freezing. Last night it rained, then froze, then come morning there was heavy fog that lasted past 9pm.

Yay…

Ouch, Ariadne. I only have to deal with the arthritis; it must be awful to have two strikes against you.

Wind out of the north and snow falling here to begin the two day blizzard they've been promising us. It's already cold and getting colder. Eleven degrees and falling. High of 16 predicted for tomorrow. Glad I don't have to try and travel cross country this week. I'm not sure it'd be possible anyway. The worst of the storm is supposed to close all three interstates in the state at some point. It's not the amount of snow that falls, but rather the wind that blows it around and the black ice that freezes on the roadways.

It's snowing!

And I'm hoping for enough snow to close the schools tomorrow. Working from home sounds good to me.

It's not for everyone. Lots of snow on the ground, but everything is open today, so off I will go to work this morning. I's just as glad my class will be online today, though historical reeanctments aren't quite as effective when done by a talking head.

Nice that you have that option. I work for crabby dinosaurs who insist we come in. However, it's just a little snow, it's not always that bad, but if it's a storm I just say FTS.
Ya shoulda stayed in Tarpon Springs! Just sayin'... ;) :D

My *NICE PERSON* Sister-in-law came up with the brilliant idea of "Let's all go to Lake Tahoe and have a white Christmas!". Father in law and I both said the same thing: "See ya when you get back!".

Normally I'd rather do my historical reenactments in person; 18th century costume loses its effect in a headshot Zoom program. The science and history PowerPoint programs I'd be content to do via Zoom, though I do like the face to face interaction in a classroom. Art classes, except for lectures, have to be in person. I work with fabric and thread. Some folks have special camera set-ups for demonstrating technique, but I don't have any desire to invest in the equipment.

Mostly I just have to accept that there are days I just can't do anything. I finally got the Fibromyalgia officially diagnosed to have the distinct "honor" of being told by the specialist I have the worst case she's ever seen. She also made sure I knew there is no cure, it is a chronic condition, all you can do is manage it.

Yes, I already knew that.

I'm glad I live in the desert but sometimes it's still too cold; if I didn't love it here so much I would think of moving further south... but humidity...

...I cannot imagine living in Wyoming in winter. *brrrr*

My aunt has fibromyalgia. It sounds perfectly dreadful. Once upon a time, medical geniuses wouldn't even recognize it as a real condition. They couldn't figure out what causes it, ergo, it must not exist, right? Someday, someone is going to look back at this as the Dark Ages of Medicine.

I like winter for at least a while each year. Don't really start to lose my sense of humor about it until late March or April. By mid-May, I experience serious hostility at the sight of a snowflake.
