My Festival

Hi everyone,

I am sorry to disappoint once again but I am finding no help locally for my festival, and it is just too hard. Maybe someday in the future I will be able to do it, but I am going to have to wait. I hope that everyone understands. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that Brea. It never ceases to amaze me that some people can dance enthusiastically for years without ever feeling the need to see really good dancing, or to get it to come to their part of the world!!

Thanks jenc. This area tends to be very insular, and I am a new teacher. I think it may have worked better in other places I've taught, but as it stands I unfortunately will have to wait.

Hey,

you poor one! I have just the same problem....there are plenty of dancers in my region who would help and would take part but we have the problem that we do not have any open minded hall- or theatre-owners, no sponsors and finally no lobby :-(

Just arranging a workshop was a nightmare I never intend to repeat. My sympathies to you, Brea, and hopes for better luck in the future.

When the right time for a festival will come, everything will be lot easier. Just be patient honey

Awwww thanks everyone! I am so touched by the kind words here on the forum! I was greatly worried at what the reaction might be. I love this dance so much and want to give people in my area the opportunity to see world class dancing...unfortunately it looks as though I might have to wait until I am in a more open minded place myself. I had really wanted to show you around some of the beauty of the area (we have great beaches and restaurants), but it was just too huge to take on myself. I'm sorry to hear you have the same trouble, Salma. Sometimes these things are a lot more difficult than you had expected!
