UK/London Events - Warning, shameless plugs!

Oooh, I've been fighting the urge.... but... it's... too.. strong...!

First shameless plug: If you don't already know about it, this Thursday Hossam and Serena Ramzy are 'taking over' Planet Egypt! If you haven't seen the two of them in action together before, you're in for a treat, I swear Serena has sound-activated hips! And as for Hossam Ramzy... I don't need to say any more. They are being supported by some very skilled dancers. I have only seen the ladies from bellydanceventure a handful of times, but I've seen Katie Holland a lot more and she really has the W

W factor when she dances! And I'm not just saying that because she's my friend, honest guv!

Second shameless plug: After the success of our first hafla in August, Nafiseh and I have decided to make it a monthly occurrence

! Our next event is 20th October. It will feature a short showcase followed by the opportunity to dance and socialise to our favourite music! The last two months have been very intimate and social, and I can honestly say I've thoroughly enjoyed them both. It would be great to have you, and tickets are at a discount if bought online in advance. Please have a look at Saqarah :: Saqarah or send me a PM.

Final shameless plug: Kind of relates to the first one. Hossam and Serena Ramzy are hosting their annual UK show at the bloomsbury theatre at the beginning of October, followed by a weekend of workshops. It's so rare to have the opportunity to hear live arabic music, let alone of the calibre that these musicians present. I've already waxed lyrical about Serena and the supporting dancers, so it's well worth a visit. I'm just so envy !!! as a student of Serena and Hossam !!
But unfortunately as they usual have this posted on their site from July this time, i just discovered it last week, and at least one per month i check their site.
Dont know if it was there and missed it (just being also the usual me lol), but I cant make it

I'm teaching the same dates workshops in South Greece
Give them kisses from me, and wishing to all the events the best success.

Well last night was the Ramzy's Planet Egypt takeover and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

The quality of the dancing from the Drumzy students was just wonderful, a true reflection on the quality of the teachers, and of course Serena and Hossam were as fabulous as ever. It was really nice being a bit more up close and personal as I've only ever seen them perform on stage and to see the personal interaction between Hossam and Serena during the tabla solo was lots of fun.

I'm also really looking forward to the next Saqarah event, although Eshta and I can't promise the Ramzy's we have some truely wonderful dancers lined up for the next couple of months so check the website for upates Saqarah :: Saqarah

Oh no! Ah what a pity, the show promises to be something completely different from their usual format - I've had a sneak preview of the rehearsals and I won't spoil it but I am sure this is going to refreshingly different but yet still with that high calibre. And the workshops will have the percussion from the Ramzy orchestra to 'create' a drum solo!

I promise I'll do another shameless plug sooner for their next event so you don't miss it!

I know this post is a bit late, but I was able to attend the Ramzy's show at the Bloomsbury theater, and all I can say is 'wow'!
And the orchestra was absolutely AMAZING!
