Well the workshop I mentioned before, (Aziza of Montreal) I decided not to attend but there is supposed to be a recital/performance the first day in the evening that I will attend. Do they usually allow camaras?

Do you mean a video camera or taking still shots?

I don't know about this particular performance, but many I've been to allow only non-flash, still photographs. Almost all prohibit video (unless there is an official event videographer, and in that case only s/he can take video).
