Can we do a world bellydance day??

I was wondering if we can do a world bellydance day?? i dont know if it is done already?? there is a world dancing day but bellydance day?? could anyone let me know ?...i would love to do that we can organise it on the same day all over the world and donate it to charity....than have a website publish all the pics from all over the world,and do it ones a year if its good and liked...what do you think??? I heard over the radio today that it is cinnamon bread day... So, if such small things can have their own day, why shouldn't we have one specially dedicated to dance! (I do apologise to people who consider cinnamon bread something significant for probably being unjust though

)

World dance day should be April the 30th, or am I wrong? At least this is when there is a big dance concert of different styles (including MED) taking place each year in Tartu (an Estonian town).

How would we pick out a suitable date though???

April 30th is queens day here, so that might be the reason I never noticed it to be dance day.
For the bellydance day date, please not during winter or on May 4th...

Hi moon the world dance day is organized by unesco......But i think we can do our own thing..i hope some more people will read this mail and say what they think....it will be so nice and we can repeat it every year....oops my optimistic brain is running whith me again!!....and the money we raise,can go every year to a differant cause,and we can all vote where it go,s....you see my brain....sorry i cant stop it when i have a idea!!But i think it will be nice ...so lets see how many people will reply...thanks for the support lady,s above!! and have a great day lydia

Now, does anyone know any pivotal or just significant moments in the belly dance history we could pick a specific date from? It would be cool to tell people that "today is world belly dance day because x years ago on that very same day..."

Yes we can have a day for it, in Greece we have day for grapes and sardenes lol, definetly we can make a world day for bellydance.
But which day?
I guess it have to be something that comes from the dance and its symbolic.
So i'm just throwing ideas, so others will throw also.
The birthday of Oum Kalthum? since she is beloved from all over the world?
21 June that is the Summer Sun thing lol? the bigest day in the year? symbolize the light that bellydance give to all of us?
