If you were to cast own BDSS to represent belly dance and lift it to the stage of concert hall as an art, rather than restaurant entertainment, who would you cast?
Hey, who knows, maybe its a new project to emerge from the forums! LOL ( I nominate Lydia Sedonia Salome and Aisha (dont forget about Maria Aya and Chrysanthi and of course Tarik) ) Anyhow, who of BD celebrities would you include and what it should be like to truely represent BD on stage? (remembering all the complaints about BDSS show!) Cant wait to hear your opinions! *hug* reen.blom

Haha, I seem to be in disgrace, since I dare to have an opinion on my own related to some subjects. Suddenly my expertise in Tsifteteli is questioned, but who cares
A world wide audience knows better than some people in the forum with a hurt pride (who don't know anything about this item anyway).

..... I have apparently committed yet another social blunder. For the record, I have had many more dealings with Aya, who IS Greek, and feel like I know her somewhat, so I felt that she could add her expertise since I am not very knowledgeable about Greek Chiftelli. It is a great dance form and I did not want to leave it out of my list. I see no reason why it was wrong for me to ask for her recommendation and it did not cross my mind to insult Chryssanthi. I did not think of her one way or the other. I do realize that she and some others here WANT to be offended by what I say and will look for any opportunity to be offended. It does not seem to matter the subject or my intent and I think this is getting just considerably more than slightly ridiculous. |

Hey it did cross my mind that Chryssanthi is the one for Chiftelli cos she was the one who explained it on the styles thread and even demonstrated it!
*HUG*

Dear Reen, Had I thought of it, I might have put her on my list myself, but I thought of Aya because I have had a past relationship with her. If Aya had recommended her I would have accepted that recommendation. My list is not about who I like or dislike or know personally. It is about who I think does that particular dance well. Since I do not know enough about Chiftetelli to make a decision, I left it up to someone who knows more than me. Aya was who I thought of. Dear Reen,
I am sorry , but I do not see the "fun" in someone getting nasty because I did not include her. I thought it was just for fun, too....little did I know that I was doing something horrendously wrong. When you have dealt with this garbage as much as I have lately, give me a call and we will compare notes on just how "fun" it is. Regards, A'isha |

Probably I was not loud enough in praising my expertise dear But it is like this in forums. The people who shout the loudest get the most attention. I prefer not to shout, but to show! Type "Greek Tsifteteli" in youtube and you'll see who's videos appear the most. And read the commentaries from the Greeks all over the world (of course including Greece) about them! You don't need to be an expert to see that I CAN DANCE. And, damn it, I AM GREEK and I've been brought up with Tsifteteli!!!!! Tsifteteli is the very first dance I learned in my life and I learned it before I learned even walking! Especially because my family comes from Asia Minor!Sorry sweetie, I'm not blaming you in this posting. I'm blaming all the people who sell "seaweed for silk ribbons" as we say in Greece and the ones who believe them. O.k. enough, I don't feel like telling more to this subject. People who know me and my work, know who I am and what I can do and they respect me and appreciate me for that (except if the little devil called jealousy creeps in their hearts). I'm not trying to convince anybody of the quality of my work, because my success speaks for it. Over!
