So I just needed to gripe a bit...I'm part of this one class where a group of us have been together for a while...a while back everyone decided they wanted to start a second class...of course I wanted to go back to my very first teacher (the only reason I had quit her was because of my schedule) but everyone else wanted to join another class...I ended up going to all three of them...but I decided I didn't like the teacher they all went to and quit...they all continued...and now everytime a new student comes around they all go with the one all the other students are going to...and it is so strange that I have such a strong dislike for this teacher and they are all flocking to her...but there really seems to be a big difference between what is important to me and what is important to them...I try not to judge them but I just don't understand why they are all going to this lady...and now I usually have to wait after class so they can practice that womans choreographies (we normally go to lunch) and they are all the time talking about stuff involving her class...They're actually cancelling one of the classes because almost all the students have a rehearsal during our class time. I'm starting to feel like such an outsider... I'm just frustrated...and I can't really vent to them...

Hi sstacey123, I think you are following what's important to you and necessarily what's important to the group. As one moves toward following their own goals, it's natural to feel left out from the group. Several things can happen at this point:
Relieve yourself from the frustration and be open to their new experiences. Do you really need to know or understand why they are going to that class? How will this info help you in the dance?

Don't take classes with the other teacher especially if she's not fulfilling your needs as a student.

You're just growing in the dance and within yourself..some growing pains are expected.
