Hello --
I'm the author of THE BELLY DANCER, and the trailer was created for the publisher. This week the folks at Berkley are getting together to brainstorm ideas for the book's cover, so I created the trailer very quickly (obviously I'm not an expert at it) to give them a rough idea of the mood. I was really surprised to see that so many people had viewed it already. I've taken it down until I get permission from the actor for the pic. (The copyright on the other pics have expired.) Solace was quick about giving permission for the music, which was really geat of them, I thought. |

Dear Deanna, Thank you for being a responsible member of the community and doing the ethical thing. I know that as a dancer, I appreciate it when people ask my permission to use my image or my articles, or to quote me. It is not only the legal thing to do, it is also ethical and courteous, which is even more important. (And if you get his permission, send him a long soul kiss from me!! I LOVE Oded Fehr!!) Absolutely. There certainly was no intention to profit at the expense of someone else. I'm a writer by trade and a dancer on the side, so I'm passionate about protecting intellectual and creative property.
Mr. Fehr simply was the inspiration for a character in the book, and I couldn't find a vintage photo that came anywhere near to capturing his mystique. I'm sure you know what I mean :-) This trailer wasn't ever meant to be up for public consumption. I'm hoping to create something before the book comes out next year that's more refined than a slideshow set to music. If anyone has any ideas on that score, I'd love to hear them. And thanks for all the feedback already. It's been really helpful :-) |

Totally unrelated to anything else in the thread, but Eshta would just like to add:
YUM! Sorry, all out of the system, carry on!
