Duh! Of course, now I think of it, belly dance is clearly so awesome a concept that people (and women at that) couldn't have come up with it themselves. Must be extraterrestrial advanced civilisations, stands to reason... Why do you think the traditional flying saucer looks suspiciously like finger cymbals, eh? ![]() |

I suppose you realise that this is the lady who can make you a teacher as long as you do 3 of her (short) courses, as she has discovered a mystic way of teaching BD from her retreat with the holy man..................

Pleeeeazzze can I spend some time with this mystic so he/she can infuse my brain and body with the ability to maya's and shimmies without having to pracitce?
Even if it means I have to chant 'I love having babies without epidural' and 'may the spirit of All-Female infiltrate all things and may I never gain weight even if I eat chocolate and do no exercise'?!!!

Nah all you need is like one of my earliest fellow students: descended from an ancient Egyptian princess. She didn't seem to know which one but she could shimmy nicely. Nothing to do with our teacher of course. In fact she used to retreat to corner of the room and dance away in her own little world. Bless!

This woman calls herself a master teacher. In an audio interview, which I think might still be on her website, she admitted that she got her first job dancing in a restaurant by lying and saying that she had loads of experience when all she'd ever done was a few weeks' retreat with the Sufi bloke. |
