Holland's Got Talent

hey everybody,

did anyone catch Holland's Got Talent tonight? I was reluctant to watch with all these talent shows going on lately, but I heard some Dutch bellydancers would be in it. This same programme was in other countries before as well. A talent show in which anyone could enter. Britain's winner was opera singer Paul Potts.

I was very very VERY pleased that tonight Gonda, a Tribal style dancer from the Netherlands, and Rachid Alexander, our male bellydancer from Curaçao, were admitted to the next round!

Wow! Very good news!

I know a few UK belly dancers entered one of these shows two or three years ago and none of them got beyond the auditions.

Hey Moon,

yes Rachid Alexander was in it.... HIS SHIMMIES

I'm so in love with him haha!! The awfully judgmental members of the jury were so impressed. Though they pressed one of the red crosses, they said it was because they thought all his shimmying would be too much for the gay show host to handle

.... blah. Anyway, it's nice to see such different sorts of our dance being impressive to the GP. And hey, we got to see Rachid shimmying

Moon, he's performing on 5th of april right? I read somewhere that he will be at a 1001 nights party then at your town. I want classes with him

Gonda did a tribal/fakir act with walking on glass, but I liked it anyway, she looked very good.

Dear KuteNurse. LOL!!! The first thing I did after the show was scour the internet to see if there were clips up. If I find them I'll sure post them here!!

The jury commentaries are at some point quite... ugh... especially when relating to the gay show host. I think they shouldn't have said that personally. Anyway, here you go

Aaaah he was cute. And nice costume! Annoying though that they were filming the judges so much. I wanted to see more of him.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYY! He was awesome to watch! I hope he makes it far in the competition. Keep posting on his progress here if you can. I would like to keep following it up.

Funny, but I felt the same way about the cameras going to the judges...I wanted to watch his performance. I was disappointed at the end I could not understand what the judges were saying also...But I could tell from body language it was good.
