I got in!!

Hi all,

Not sure if this thread belongs here, but I am excited to announce that I got into A Chorus Line! I didn't think I would. However, I never saw the show and I just watched some of the dancing in it with horror...they think I can DO THAT?! The dancing in it is just insane! Anyway, I'm still excited, especially as it will give me some training in different kinds of dance forms, plus hopefully will help me lose this weight I've been so worried about! Can anyone tell me anything about A Chorus Line?

Wow that's really exciting! What are you going to do in it? How was the audition? I don't know the story though so can't help with that, sorry.

Well, that's the strange part. They told me they were still auditioning so they hadn't cast parts yet but I was definitely in it. I knew nothing about the show until after I found out I was cast and then was shocked to see the intensity of the dancing in it!! At least I'll lose weight.

Unfortunately, after making myself somewhat familiar with it, my heart is absolutely set on playing Val. This is why:

I've watched every version of this that's available on YouTube!

However, I fear they might cast me as the girl who can't sing because I forgot the song I was singing during the audition. Then I sang an Irish song instead and they asked me to sing it three times. I don't know...I just hope I get Val!

Brea, that's just plain hysterical. This is what you auditioned for? Wow. Not only do I hope you get it, but I expect to see a video of your performance afterward!

Brea! That is definitely a big deal. I think it will be lot of rehearsals and hardwork. In the end it is all worth it.

Auntie Crazy! A video, here, of me, shouting 'Tits and Ass' at the top of my lungs would probably get me banned from the bellydance community forever!

I still hope I get Val, though. I know the song by heart now, I can sing it, I almost know the whole monologue. I shouldn't have even looked before they'd decided on which part to give me. Now I'm going to either be elated or totally disappointed.

However, as janaki points out, it will be totally worth it, and more training than my money can buy at this particular juncture.
