Default Banu

Dear Salome,
Nice work!! It was a great interview, I think, with a lot of good questions and answers that did not ramble far afield.
Regards,
A'isha

Not all turkish dancing is that risque. Come to think of it, i've seen some egyptian dancing that has made my hair curl. There's good and bad in every style.

I've seen Turkish-flavored dancing that's much more to my taste than that clip, here in Minnesota.

I think Princess Banu is not just a dancer, but also a personality. And that's a time-honored way to make a living, too.

OMG, I just looked at this video. Princes Leia's "slave" costume is a total ripoff of Princess Banu's!

I know there's good and bad in every style, but I thought princess Banu had to be a good dancer, since she got interviewed here and all, so she must be good in Turkish style... so.. was that an example of good Turkish style or...?

Dear Moon,
I have seen much better Turkish dancers. I think she would be considered average for her time, but when I think of people like Najla Atis and a few others, she P. Banu looks rather mediocre. However, I like the way she thinks very much. There are many people who are not really great dancers that make valid contributions either through the gathering of knowledge, or through offering a succinct dance philosophy, or in some other way. She is one of them. This is just my opinion, though.
Regards,
A'isha
