This one was "off" to me (although it looks better on the movie screen when it's not stretched out like that you-tube video), but A Knight's Tale was so fantasy-like anyway, I didn't mind it there.

It wasn't so much that it wasn't "authentic", it was the way it totally broke the mood of the film up to that point. I mean, HAKIM!!!!

If they'd bunged in a few Bollywoody dance scenes earlier it wouldn't have been such a moment. (he he he, the Battle of Waterloo in a Bollywood stylee, can you imagine? )

My favorite musical anachronism is hearing Hossam Ramzy in the movie Stargate. Hossam Ramzy time traveler! Whoot!

I hated Vanity Fair because of the Hakim number. Goofy.

Hossam Ramzy fit into Stargate just great, though.

And I, too, loved A Knight's Tale. I started off with a WTF feeling watching it, and then fell in love with it. The costuming also often gets to me, but in this movie, some of the little modern touches I thought were welcome and well blended. Unlike "First Knight", in which the costuming was so distractingly bad I couldn't watch it all the way through!

Another one that bugs me is Marie Antoinette. Made Sophia Copola seem like a one-trick pony: take themes and musical stylings and overlay it on Japan or 17th century France! What will be next??

Maybe producers could have spiced up Cranford a bit with some hey nonny ho in the back room of Miss Matty's tea emporium. accompanied by Amy Winehouse's Rehab...gotta kick that black stuff...no way!

Is it my imagination or did I see a Belly Dancer in the new movie starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts? I forget the name of the movie...

I never liked a Knight's Tale but I absolutely ADORE Moulin Rouge. Yes, it is very incorrect, but it introduced me to the real history of Bohemian Paris. Plus Ewan McGregor is cool, and sings well. Other than that, I try to avoid this type of film...as a historian I could go on and on about the stupid, unnecessary inaccuracies of Braveheart, and make myself incredibly unpopular at parties.

Well quite but whilst I abhor the messing around with history as I'm also an historian..yey history rocks Hollywood or whoever is not about accuracy but entertainment
As to Braveheart..Mel Gibson,...Wot!!!!!!
and Moulin Rouge..it got switched off after 10 minutes
But music with films...I like the way the Indian cinema does it.History, classics thrillers you get it all with music and dance as well
