Dear Janaki,
Not really SO shocking. Why would an Iranian woman know any more about Kahliji dance than say, an Egyptian or an American? We often tend to sort of lump all Middle Eastern cultures into one in our minds, when in reality there are many differences. From region to region there are differences. I was surprised to find that Saudis and Kuwaitis do not even understand each other sometimes when it comes to the way they use language, and the cultural differences between the two countries, right next to each other, are very great!!!
I am off to try to comment on Youtube again.
Regards,
A'isha

PS: I JUST do not know WHAT I am doing wrong over there at You Tube. I am getting a message that says "Sorry. " is not a valid password. You can only use letters or numbers". Since I am using a friend's name and there are no "s in it... I am making myself crazy over there. I give up now. Just make a comment for me.

Lol I could tell that she's Iranian..... from the name only. I also noticed that Iranians tend to jump all over the place when they dance, especially if they're dancing to bandari music. The Gulf region has a lot of influences from Iran and vice versa. However, Iranians have their distinctly unique and rich culture, it is not the same as that of Arabs. Bandari and Khaleegi are most definately NOT the same thing. I think she might be confused.

I've already left a comment on there. If I leave multiple comments on the same video, she'll probably think I'm being hateful and "jealous" because she's such a terrific dancer. She seems over confident and obviously thinks she knows what she's doing!

Dearest A'isha, You are absolutely right in what you said, we often tend to sort of lump all Middle Eastern cultures into one in our minds, sterotypical!!!

Regarding Youtube account pls don't giveup. I would suggest that you either request your password (incase you have forgotten) or create a brand new account with a new identity. It is easier.
