...you haunt garage sales and thrift stores looking for costume parts

...everything you own is sparkly

...you have yards and yards of fabric, beads, and embellishments for costumes you'll build some day

Stacy: lol, it is not a real ringtone originally. I had this song in mp3 format on my computer and since my computer and my phone can be connected through bluetooth or infrared, I just downloaded it from my computer and set it a ringtone.

I think i´m not a bellydancer yet but i recognise a lot of situations you've described! Here's what happends to me:

You know you're a bellydancer when you start dancing, doing shimmies and 8s while you wash your hair at the shower.

When you don´t know how to dance anything else than bellydance, whatever the type of music.

When your 9 year sister says to you "You're always dancing! Stop dancing!" and then you notice that you're ACTUALLY dancing.

When you listen to a song and start immediatly thinking "This step would be cute here...An 8 here... Oh, a shimmie is perfect for this part...Followed by some hip lifts..."when you notice, you have a full coreography for that music.

When all your passwords are arab or bellydance related words.

Ok, I have danced across the floor at work (could not restrain myself). I don't think my boss thinks this is acceptable for the lifeguard!

Also my 11yr old son telling me i'm obsessed with belly dance.
