I think you need to speak with your teacher, ask her why the change ( don't say anything about the other student jenny) just seek answers for her change of heart, and also explain to her you have prepared for this opportunity carefully.
Yes I would probably be upset and hurt, but would like to know why she has changed her mind and hasn't let you know. Maybe the girl jenny spoke to her and asked her for the opportunity and placed the teacher on the spot and maybe she found it hard to say no, some people are like that if they are confronted by a strong personality. But give your teacher a chance to explain, regardless of how this came about she needs to tell you that she has changed her mind and she should have done so before announcing the change to the class. I am sorry that this has happened to you as you have prepared well. ~Mosaic PS: Welcome to the forum |

Goodness, don't just disappear over what might well be a misunderstanding! By all means, speak to the lady. If you don't, you'll always wonder what happened and she'll wonder why you disappeared without a word and you both could be upset for donkeys years. I'm sorry you have been so disappointed after planning so happily. It is a hard blow to take.

Oh I know it wasn't a deliberate hurt on their part. I also know if I bring this up to teacher I will burst into tears and she will feel really bad.

Everything you're feeling is valid, since it's your emotion. I'm sorry you've had something you obviously were so excited about taken away
![]() But I agree with the other posters that you should talk to the teacher. Just tell her you thought it was understood that you were going to be taking over classes and you wondered what changed her mind. Be civil and assume it was a misunderstanding unless she tells you otherwise. You obviously have a real passion to teach, and she should know that. When you talk to her, let us know what she says, ok? And do talk to her. If you don't, it will eat at you forever. |

Email her maybe? Before she goes on vacation.
BTW - it might be a good idea to take that class with "Jenny." You can learn something -- about being a teacher, even if it's what NOT to do. ![]() |
