Default How do you dress?

When you aren't dancing how do you dress? Does a little belly dance sneak into your everyday wardrobe?

I dress how I feel. My style changes all the time. The ONE thing that NEVER changes, anyone who knows me will not tell you any different. I have a jean fetish. I LOVE jeans. You will always see me in a pair of jeans, unless I'm at work

i wish!!
kinda hard to do that when you have to wear hard hat and steel tipped boots and walk through mud and dust on a construction site all day.

dressing for dance practice is a pleasure for me, because at least i can be completely feminine for that time.

Naw, that was a K-Mart trip.

Since I dress very different from most males, its kinda hard to say. Many times my earrings and other jewelry are Belly Dancer-y. I've had complete strangers, knowledgeable about Belly Dance, but not knowledgeable about me, pick up on my being a Belly Dancer without my saying a word. How did they do that?

Identifying Belly Dancers in civvies is an interesting exercise. Subtle clothing hints help, but carriage and confidence gives it away many times...

Well, I usually put one foot in one leg of my knickers, then the other foot in the other leg, then pull them up - oh that wasn't what you meant?!!!
My earrings have got bigger!
My hair is much longer!
And yes, on the odd occasion the belt is now a hipscarf!!
Oh my toenails are likely to be painted, and I wear a toering...

but otherwise I have to dress reasonably formally for work, and when I'm not at work I usually grunge around in jeans and T-shirt or trackies and T-shirt!!

Belly dance was more a natural extension of how I dress than the other way around. I've always loved flowing fabrics and ostentatious jewelry. Ironically, since I now work in an office setting, I've had to dial back my work wear a bit over the last few years. I also cut my almost waist length curly hair back to a chin-length bob a while back.

My standard (casual) everyday wear tends towards minimal makeup (eyeliner and lip gloss), jeans (often ragged, frequently modified with bright fabric patches), a t-shirt or bright tunic style top, large dangly earrings, a few sizeable rings, and hopelessly sensible footwaer. I never really grew out of my Doc Marten's phase.

I am not a dancer yet, but class I wear black and most days I wear black. Going out, I wear black, but the fabrics change, going out warrants black silk charmeuse and leather.

Though I am not a dancer yet, I have been accused of being one since starting this stuff, it's got to be the new way of moving I suppose.

Depends on my mood but most of the time, it's brightly colored tops and jeans with earrings (love earrings!) For evening wear, sometimes dark colors, sometimes bright more dressy stuff.

Oh yes, been wearing long skirts more often now. There's now a subtle hint of belly dancing in my style except the coin scarf, of course, hahahahahaha!
