p.s. I remembered the whole situation and I'm mad lol
Haram is also to cheat your wife, haram is to cheat your husband, haram is to drink.
If they want to accuse me for doing haram, me that i'm a greek italian i can accuse them for 100 things they do. And they dont hide them !!
Hi Maria,
I dont doubt for a second that you know all this.
It was just a point to warn others really. If I know something is Haram or Ayib then I can make an informed choice.
Believe me... I am not into morals!!!
I know the owner of a very local Belly Dance nightclub (in Cairo) who has Bjork written right across her back. She had it done whilst she was on her annual trip to Europe for the month of Ramadan last year!

I am sure our paths will cross there sooner or later!
I will be going again on the 23rd Aug for a few weeks.

We can Pm each other before we go each time to check if we will be there,
that would be a hoot!

I have two tattoos done in black ink, a bass clef on my inner left arm and a treble clef on my inner right. I think they are very elegant symbols, and music is the #1 thing in my life. I got them a little over a year ago, right after my 18th birthday.

I was recently in the ER and the nurse asked me what my "chinese symbols" meant...

I have three tats:
1. A black tribal-style hammerhead shark on my left hip. This represents, in a roundabout sort of way, my great-grandfather who I have always felt was protecting me. Long story.
2. A mama koala holding twin babies, highly stylized, to represent my kids, on my lower right back.
3. A small Arabic script on my left shoulderblade that says "raqisa" (dancer). This is new, just got it.

I have pics of all three on my tribe page: Durrah's Profile - tribe.net (scroll down, they're on the left).

ETA: I think tattoos should be meaningful. My brother has a bunch that he just thought sounded cool, and later he often changes his mind and dislikes them. His latest plan is to get a bunch of werewolves eating a nun to cover up a Superman sign (with the initials SD for Super Dave) that his buddy tattooed on his arm with a needle made out of a guitar string needle, which probably tells you all you need to know about my brother :lol

BEAUTIFULLY stated Maria!
The personal choices that we make are ones to be proud of! Those who stand in judgement be damned...and ignored!!!

These are all lovely and unique, especially the koalas. I'm not a big fan of koalas, but that tat is cool!

I agree about the koala tat - very nice!

This is just a rough design of the next tattoo I want. The words are "Split Open and Melt" (the title of a Phish song), because I think those four words are me in a nutshell, and I think it is a beautiful phrase. I'm all about relaxing, just letting your entire self split open and melt, and letting your unique creativeness flow.

I made this entirely on the computer so it isn't exactly what I want - I want to take the image to an artist who will custom design it, with more shading, more fluidity in the water droplets, overall an illusion of the design itself melting. It would be in my back, so that the word melt and the puddle it is dripping into are right down my spine.

This is a very cool concept! Are you sure you aren't an artist, yourself?
