I can never make my mind up about what I'd like, so I've never gone ahead with one...

Instead of an Alladin's Lamp, what about a coffee pot? They have a wonderful shape and are very representative...

One item that does link dance with the Middle Eastern culture is the scimitar or saif. The sword appears on many ME countries national flag, and dancers use it in ME dance.

Well, to an observer who knows swords would see a claymore as a Scottish weapon, thus indicating an interest in Scotland. Likewise on seeing a scimitar, Saif or Kilij, one would discern an interest in the Middle east.

Interestingly or not, the County of Essex in Britain has three scimitars as it's motif.

khanjar - yes, thank you, I understand that...I just meant having both on the body would be weird, as well as difficult. Where would I put them?

I have a large phoenix on my lower back, and a dragon on my right front hip, though the dragon needs some serious work done to retouch it; he's faded over the last thirteen years. I posted pics up on the piercing thread in the male dancer section as well, FYI.

I'm getting my second one this week
The first one is a kind of tribal ritual arabic thing (cant describe it lol) on the middle upper back.
I was thinking 10 years what and where to do the first one so not to regret it and the same for the new one and i decided.
I'm doing it down at the right leg, and its gonna be written in arabic language:
Ana Magnuna Ma'alema
Magnuna Ma'alema is the nick arabs and greeks gave me, means crazy boss in arabic lol
So i'm the crazy boss

Tatoo's are considered Haram in most of Egypt unless it is a Christian Tatoo of the cross (usually a very small one on the inside of the wrist).

Tribal markings in Fallahin are different of course.

Westerners with tatoo's (particularly women)are viewed as being extra trashy in most cases.

Even if you are proud of your Arabic Script etc. I would not walk around showing it to people in Egypt. They will of course be their usual polite but what they feel will be another matter. My brother had 'MY Father' (In Arabic) witten on his back last year when my father died. He was called all the stupid names under the son when he got to Egypt 'AYIB!'

I know Caroline ! thats why not even my first tattoo is visable and the second will be the same also.
When i'm about to be with arab audience i cover it with special make-up i'm doing for years.
But you know something, I feel like, in this whole egypt arab thing there is a lot of hypocrisy and i'm not taking it anymore from people that for them haram is everything and when they are in a club that i'm dancing get soooooooooooooo drung that need others to carry them.
Plus a tatoo is something very personal and i'm on a turn of my life.

p.s. I remembered the whole situation and I'm mad lol
Haram is also to cheat your wife, haram is to cheat your husband, haram is to drink.
If they want to accuse me for doing haram, me that i'm a greek italian i can accuse them for 100 things they do. And they dont hide them !!
