Dear Gang,
I did not see any Egyptians chewing gum while I was there and it does not seem to be a popular pastime among most of my Arab friends from other countries either, though I have seen the occasional gum chewer. But Hallah's driver and his wife LOVE things like throat lozenges, breath mints, hard candies like Lifesavers. I brought these vitamin C throat drops with me from home and they loved them. They were always sharing theirs with me, so I felt good about having something to share back. Hallah's people in her shop seemed to like them, too and somebody was always passing around mints or throat drops there! I will be sending some to them when I send a package to Hallah. I don't know if it typical for people to like throat drops or not... Regards, A'isha |
