I love grey and silver hair. I have a few near my hairline. Before I color my hair, I part the silvers out very carefully so as not to get any dye on them. I only wish I had more. If I take after my father, I may, but my mother does not have enough even at 65. Silver is the only color that could make me give up being a redhead. They are the rhinestones in my hair.

I doubt I will ever turn grey myself but I saw Amel Tafsout at Raqs and OMG.
she has let her hair go silver and she looks fantastic! I am not just saying this, she really did. I think that perhaps the fact that she is darker skinned helps, as no colour in skin and hair can be a little too much. |

My grandmother was a dark brunette who started going silver in her 20's. Oh, to have that hair... |

My mom's dark hair started going silver in her teens. When she died at 72, she had the most gorgeous hair I've ever seen. I inherited long lasting hair color from the other side of the family: I am 53 and have to search hard for any silver at all. My grandmother's hair was still black when she died, and my dad's was just beginning to get silver when he died at 74. Unfortunately, I also inherited the hips that go with the hair

A while ago it was her 80th birthday on the Sunday. We spent £30 on petrol, booked a hotel room, paid for ourselves, 2 daughters 1 partner to have a meal, also our share of hiring the room, wine etc, mum's meal for Saturday. Big 4 generation party. (She said she didn't want a present, but I made sure she had something to open anyway.) We had to go back early on the Sunday, as did one sister, leaving my brother and his family, my sister and her children including great-grandson to have cake with her, and she said I just wish someone could have made a bit more fuss on my actual birthday!! |
