They did set a record on about 8 million downloads in 24 hours worldwide. Also they wanted to count only independent downloads and not updates, so maybe that's why - they dont offer it as update yet? Thanks khanjar for the link, gonna try it out! As for the F3 I was told its a firewall issue...oh well...gonna see..... PS LOL I am really carried away by a new toy- I love pictures.....

Dear Khanjar, Well.... due to my lack of knowledge, I am already in trouble. I went to play the demo and it came out all choppy and weird and I could not understand anything the lady said except the words "3-D". I am too nervous now to move forward. Do you have any clue what I might be doing wrong? I KNOW this is ridiculous and I apologize, but I just feel so inadequate that it sort of paralyzes me because I am afraid I will really do something bad to my computer. If I do, I am helpless to fix it!! Regards, A'isha |

I normally allow firefox to update when it is ready unless I experience an issue, in which case I will search for any updates.
I had that policy with my operating system, letting M$ update Vista when it was appropriate, but they have sent me something which has stopped my audio working with no apparent cure so far. Searching techie forums, I am not the only one who now has this problem to solve, it is very common and has to do with M$ not yet having the correct drivers available for all systems, but sends what it has instead of leaving things alone. So no audio, it's horrible seeing as my favourite activity on the net was Youtube for music, and video instruction involving sound. But given my past activities with solving problems via techie forums, I will not give up. I am just annoyed and my annoyance is directed towards Microshaft.

Dear Khanjar, One of my computer experts will LOVE the word, Microshaft. She believes Bill Gates is the root of all evil, rather than the love of money! Regards, A'isha |

Just try again later, all known problems can be found on the site's 'support' tab.

If you are using Vista, you are pretty well guarded as that OS seems to treat everyone as children.
M$, microshaft, microscam, they all came from techie forums, after a while seeing the new parlance, it sinks in, especially when you experience problems. Not really fair I suppose as MS has done some very good things and brought easy computing to the masses, but some of the more recent activities have upset a lot of people, like releasing OS's that don't work. Personally, I like so many other Vista users is considering a move to linux gubuntu. A big step for me, which is taking a lot of thinking about. But I need an OS that works. I operate a small system and I do not see why after buying a capable machine I need to go and buy more memory just to make the thing work better, if the OS needs that much memory, then surely there is something less hungry out there.

As for Micro$oft, or MicroSlop as I call 'em - I'm convinced that Bill Gates is the anti-Christ - and I'm not even Christian! A'isha - nothing to be scared of as long as you're not running a Mac with the older "Panther" operating system.

Dear Khanjar, I am getting quite the education here. Like every other activity in the world, computer people seem to have their own language in which they speak to each other ( so do dancers!!). What is OS? Regards, A'isha |

Yes, I understand,
OS is simply operating system, like Windows XP, Windows Vista and the old lovely Windows 98 and other variations in between, well as far as M$ products go. Linux is something different, it started in Finland and is open source in that users can modify and enhance it if they are into programming, which I am not. I can make sheets of chain mail out of thousands of rings, but I cannot fathom the boredom of programming languages. That to me is akin to watching paint dry. Currently, or so I have been advised Gubuntu is a free download from linux.com. If I had win XP, I could load gubuntu on the computer and there compare the two and ditch what I found useless when the time comes, but not with Vista unless I had a seperate hard drive. This strikes me as M$ getting a bit authoritarian. Authority, I do not like and if an option exists, then that is attractive to me.
