Default Chryssanthi's trip to Japan

Hi friends.

I came back from Japan two weeks ago, but I didn't manage to report anything about the trip before now (too much work waiting for me in my studio and preparations for the next Oriental Flow show and some other smaller shows I'm having with my students this and next month).
Japan was as always very interesting, but also very exhausting. First thing that happened when I arrived to Tokyo, was that my suitcase didn't arrive. It got stuck in London, where I had a short stop over, since I flew with British Airways (famous Heathrow 5). You can imagine how I felt Especially since the clerks at Narita airport couldn't tell me when my luggage is going to come. Finally it came 3 days later and I had to buy extra cloths and cosmetics because I had not much in my hand baggage and I didn't know if my suitcase is ever going to come
After the shock with my suitcase I got some nice and relaxing days in Tokyo (haha, as relaxing as days in Tokyo can be) and then the real stress started: I travelled all the way to South Japan until the small city of Beppu, famous for it's unusual hot springs. I stayed there only two days and then I travelled to Kyoto. I stayed there only one and a half day and then I travelled to Tokyo again. After one and a half days I went back to Germany. Pure stress, I'm not going to visit so many places in one week again. I spent most of my time on the road And I got sick at the end, so my flight back home was a nightmare. The best moment was the one day I spent in Kyoto (I loooove Kyoto)and my visits at the hot springs in Tokyo and Beppu. But I did greaaaaat shopping! This rewarded me.
As about contacting the belly dance community, I did none! I had some phone numbers of some Japanese ladies I got to know in Cairo last year, but I didn't feel like calling them. I wanted to escape from belly dancing for some days. I have so much work since I opened my studio (which is great of course, but I get sooo tired), that I felt like forgetting the dancing for some days (haha, creative brake)
I'll post some pics in the photo gallery in the private picture album

Japan is on my 'hit list' of places to visit...

Are there any belly dance festivals there? I thought I saw one advertised ages ago. A Japanese student customer in our restaurant asked me.

It could be that there are some, but since I didn't get in contact with the local belly dance community, I don't really know. Maybe next time I visit Japan I'll try to meet the belly dancers I got to know in Cairo, then I'll know more about what's going on. But there are belly dance magazines in Japan, I know, because I have two Japanese students here in Germany and they brought a Japanese BD-magazine in the studio once
