If I remember right someone started a thread and wanted to know more about bellydance in Skandinavia in the Viking era but somehow it was ruled out (well, bellydance as we know it is a rather recent thing, innit?)

don't you think those coins look like they are off a hipscarf?? maybe the y are and the archeologists didn't realise
![]() ![]() there was a thread about bellydance and scandanvia, and arabs in scandanvia at some point. i remember it that there was someone doing some research into it, but their english wasn't so hot so they struggled to articulate the complexity, and they got jumped on. wasn't it for a museum ![]()

You guys are hilarious!But on a more serious note, I think it once again proves us that we know so little about our past and history. There were much greater things going on back in the days than we can imagine.
