Happy Easter

Happy Easter to everyone. I love Easter more than any other holiday. I love church and following Lent and spending time relaxing with my family. A tradition my family follows is going to church on Holy Thursday, the last supper, Good Friday and Midnight Mass tonight on Saturday. Tomorrow we will be traveling to see family early in the morning to be with family. What does everyone else do to celebrate Easter?

Happy Easter! I like Easter too. I used to take it for granted, but now when I live far from my family I get all traditional with the food and stuff. Well, in my family it was mostly about the food

and company, since we are not at all religious.
I always used to go skiing and we would celebrate Easter in the north of sweden in our cabin, but now I can't afford to go there because I don't have student discount on the train anymore

We eat boiled, painted eggs, salmon, herring, potatoes etc.

Oh and when I was a child I dressed up as a easter witch and went skiing in the slopes.
(Kids dress up as cute witches and go around handing out homemade easter greeting cards and getting candy from the neighbours. Kind of like american Halloween.)
I think Sweden have kept A LOT of the pagan part of the traditions that were turned into christian.

I love hearing about other countries and other people's traditions. It is interested you should mention skiing on Easter, because yesterday morning, when we were trying to leave, it was snowing something crazy. Usually in the US, the weather is spring-like and warmer. But yesterday morning, it was like a blizzard! Cars were sliding down the hills and I was quite frankly scared of getting into an accident. But we plugged along for the 3 hour drive and once we hit the half-way point, the weather was clear and the roads were clear. On the way home, the roads were dry and you never would have guessed there was a snowstorm in the morning.

Oh yeah, all the snow we did not get this year we're getting now... Having Easter dinner in candlelight with thick snow falling outside the window... hmm, gets you confused, doesn't it?

Easter was great, but I'm ready to move on to the summer already. I can't wait for the warm weather.
