and there is more !! unbelievable !! Lydia please let us know if this is true !!
fist pic All of this was built in the last 5 years, including that island that looks like a palm tree. The Palm Islands in Dubai. New Dutch dredging technology was used to create these massive man made islands. They are the largest artificial islands in the world and can be seen from space. Three of these Palms will be made with the last one being the largest of them all. second pic Upon completion, the resort will have 2,000 villas, 40 luxury hotels, shopping centers, movie theaters, and many other facilities. It is expected to support a population of approximately 500,000 people. It is advertised as being visible from the moon. third pic The World Islands. 300 artificially created islands in the shape of the world. Each island will have an estimated cost of $25-30 million. fourth pic The Burj al-Arab hotel in Dubai. The worlds tallest hotel. Considered the only '7 star' hotel and the most luxurious hotel in the world. It stands on an artificial island in the sea. Last edited by slinks; 02-22-2008 at 11:39 PM. |

Hi Slinks i missed you!! and yes this is all treu, the palm is pretty and busy already and expensive...i never understood why they make it because there is plenty space in the desert, but i geuss its good business?? most property,s are sold and looking realy pretty...i will be teaching there aswell because one of the new studio,s where i will teach is there....the burj al arab ,that is the towerhotel in the picture, is pretty, i do party,s there regular and i teach at the healthclub from the hotel.....people from all over the world come and see this hotel, to be honest i prefer the more arabic design, like the other place where i teach the ,,mina al salaam,, at the madinat it is much more traditional and arabic looking i will take some pictures this week and post them here so you can see the more traditional look...yes Dubai is a pretty place i am lucky to work in all this ,,fancy,,things! have a great day lydia

Aww, great pics! I've been to Dubai years ago, this was just as they were building the Burj Al Arab. I was staying at a hotel right opposite of the building site and I already considered this a constructional miracle
The hotel I stayed at was demolished shortly after - it just wasn't fancy enough and got in the way I guess the phenomenon with the artificial islands is that they are somewhat exclusive. However, if you count up all the islands at the palm tree and the world, then there is quite many, and it isn't really that original, is it ![]() I did love Dubai a lot, Lydia you're lucky to be there!

Sorry to hear Slinks that you dont feel well enough to dance ,perhaps later on?? but stay with us we dont wanna mis you,and the picture are coming up in a few days ,promise....yes Maria i am with you all the money and the posh dont do anything to me either i still prefer dubai as it was before,it was lovely, but i do feel lucky to work in all the beautiful places, that is a blessing...also lately there are the gouverment is working on new laws so that the poeple from the poor country,s that are working here have better salaris enz...but it works 2 way,s the gouverments from the country,s where they come from also have to progress than those poeple did not have to travel and work in other country,s,for most of this people the little money they make here is still dubble or tripple what they make back home and its very sad so its a real global problem.....But as i said the gouverments are working on it,for me i just do my best to help who i can like the poeple around me,and hope things will change, and slowly i do see changes happening...have a nice day everybody,Lydia
