Yes, that's why my search for music is taking some time. I can often hear snatches of belly dance influence in flamenco music and vice versa, but I still haven't found a piece where I can reflect both properly. I'll check out the suggestions, thanks.

Excelent coreography, and dancer! I even shared the video with a Flamenco dancer friend of mine who wants to learn oriental dance so that she can fusion. Bellydance Oz: I also think that Hozzam Ramzy Oriental Flamenco is a very good choice, if I remember well I think he worked with "Tomatito" who is one of the top Guitarist of Spain. |

I'm way late on this, but i know a duet so to speak with the gypsy kings and alabina (if the labelling is right) that is called eres tu. I've heard 2 versions of it, one which just sounds like a nice fusion to me and another which has a more pointed flamenco sound to it.
The other song is Flamenco Oriental, sung by Dalida as a duet again with an italian guy i think - don't remember his name though. Forgive my ignorance if this song is a remake of some famous piece of music that i haven't heard as yet! |

Was browsing YouTube just after reading this thread and found some alabina videos. I looove this song! It might work for you. It's very danceable.
This seems to be the same song as "eres tu" that Mya mentioned only here they call it Yalla bina Yalla Here's another version/video although it says in the comments that it's not "Gypsy Kings" but "Los Ninos". I don't know anything about it but thought I should mention it in case you search for it and have trouble finding it.

GIPSY KINGS ERES TU LYRICS
See - it's got the same words as what this site credits as a gypsy kings song but i dunno if it's an error or not. Perhaps it's a remake? Anybody else know better i'd be glad to find out for sure! Last edited by Mya; 09-05-2008 at 11:29 AM. |

For me classy - Ya msafir wahdak
Pop style - Alabina by Ishtar Alabina Interestingly, I leared arab/flemenco fusion form Raqia Hassan 2 years ago to El Fen for Wash Ya Wash Cd. There is beautiful song by Jose Fernandez. Can't think of the name now. |
