It sounds like it's live, it follows a pretty standard 'template' as far as drum solos go. It might sounds extreme but maybe you can find a friendly drummer (replace 'find' with 'hire') and see if they can help you, assuming it hasn't been copied off of a recorded version?

I am after the song because of the end bit where she does the tiny shimmies/tummy flutter which then slows down to the end into big moves(not sure what that move is called but I want to include it in my Choreography). Like as if a windup toy slows til it fully stops.
I have got a drum solo which has this drum bit in it but the song is too long (5mins). I could use this song instead BUT I would need to cut it short as I will use it at a family party and I do not want to bore people. Maybe someone knows how to do that? It's on a CD. Could I audio edit it? Do I need special software? Or does someone know a tabla solo which includes this drum part but isn't longer than 3 mins? Sorry to go on and on, hope it all makes sense ;-) |

Great, thank you I've got a dvd of her with an included drum solo CD. Will try and copy her choreography. Suppose 5min performance will be fine... Does anyone by any chance have an idea what I could use as intro? Just a very short intro/walking in song...?
Thank you for your help guys! |

Hi Curl 1982,yes i agree with jenc ...i wonder how long you are dancing? it would be much better for you if you make your own choreo....i dont know if you would be able to? but to copy other dancers it is not so very nice, you can use some of the moves if you do not have enough in your own store...,but try to make in big lines at least to make your own...also if you will do it yourself people will realy appreciate you as a dancer now and in the future...I hope you will try atleast and you will see how nice it will make you feel if you can realy do your own thing when it comes to choreo, have a nice day Lydia

Yes I have done my own chroreographies but I was looking for that particular part of the choreography (where you do tiny shimmies layered with belly roll and then shimmy slower and bigger towards the end). I want this in my choreo. but couldn't find any other tablas except the ones with Sonia or Tara.

Hi there,
I am sure if you reserch enough you may find the piece you like to work with rather than copy others choreos. In my opinion a choreography is like a poetry or a story the dancer writes. If you copy a part of the choreo, it won't fit into your story line. If you are too keen on it, atleast credit the dancer you got movements from. Good luck! Janaki |

A short drum solo that is really popular would be good ol' Sahra Saidi. Will let you find it on youtube, it doesn't have the bit you describe in it, but if you are worried about "boring" people, it's an absolute safe bet! Is this going to be your first performance?
