I've been thinking about writing a choreography for Rachid Taha's version of Ya Rayah. I know he's Rai, but I think the song lyrics would make a nice Am Cab dance. I have visions of all the different cultures coming together in the 1970's urban American clubs to listen to Middle Eastern music, watch the dancers and remember home. Thoughts?

I tried to search for "Ya Rayah" in old threads, but the search tool said it was too short or something like that. It's such a nice simple and smooth song, and I'll keep the dancing that way too. I've gotten about a third of it done so far, and I'm working on ideas for the rest. |
