Also, "The best belly dance album in the world ever vol II" has some good old music by Faruk Salama.
Dear Sedonia,
Yes, that is the one I have in ablbum form: Nadia Gamal on cover in a sort of ugly turquoise-ish costume with her arms spread downward, if I remember correctly. One of those songs es one of my favorites to dance to for some time. Joumana, I think.

Dear Aziyade,
Jodette was a great cymbal player and she played these HUGE ones with great ease. She also had a great singing voice. I am pleased to say I own three of her albums.
Regards,
A'isha

Still have vinyl? I'm still buying it! When I visited Kharmine last summer, she took me to a wonderful place that had an entire upstairs filled with vinyl. I bought perfectly preserved replacements for albums I wore the tails off of back in the seventies.

PS just last month a woman who I never dreamed had ever listened to a piece of belly dance music brought me a cassette tape of Port Saiid. Truly the tackiest record cover ever produced.
