I've attended Natacha's gig yesterday in Paris. It was absolutely fantastic. I've written a review on my blog but for those who don't speak French here is a short version. Sang Abdel Halim Hafez, Fairuz, as well as songs from her repertoire (Mon amie la rose, Mustahil) and stuff like Lamma Baada Yatathana, Black is the colour of my lover's hair, a song in Spanish composed by her Luth player (La Vida Caillada), Adam's Lullaby composed by Jocelyn Pook (who did the soundtrack for Eyes Wide Shut and The Merchant of Venice) by the way this song appears in the film Brick Lane which has just been released in England. Musicians included Ali El Minyawi (son of the great Ibrahim El Minyawi for those who know him), Louai (nay and also darbuka player), a violin, a cello, a bass & mouth organ player (not at the same time though!!!), the conductor and arranger who played keyboards an guitare. The atmosphere was very cosy (around 200 people only) and she gave us explanations of songs and did a bit of dancing as well. Her voice was heaven and I think everybody was bewitched ![]() Don't miss her if she plays in your area with this band. It's very different from the electronic band she normally plays with. She'll be performing next Thursday with Tim & Hamid Mantu from Transglobal Underground, Ali and Tarek (the same set up as for the International Bellydance Congress) in London for the launch of MTV Africa |

Yes she does but The USA don't make things easy for foreign artists to come and tour on their land
![]() She has already performed with this band in New York last year. The best is to log on her website or myspace where you should get info ! If I hera of anything I'll let you know ![]() |

Agree with Bellydeluxe! Go see it if you have the chance! The concert is great! I went to see it in copenhagen this summer and I was spellbound by the beautiful music. I think her voice is sooo much more emotional live than on cd.

I've just downloaded The Best of Natacha Atlas through eMusic - thanks so much for putting me onto her!!! Wonderful stuff.
If you haven't been into eMusic, do think about it - they had several of her albums, and so many wonderful ME artists. If you like international and slightly independent non-mainstream music, this is a great place to go. eMusic MP3 Music and Audiobook Downloads
