Thumbs down Worst BD song?

Hi, I'm new to the Forum. I've been reading a lot and I don't think anyone's asked this one yet, but if I'm wrong- sorry!

Is there a song you hate so much it sets your teeth on edge just to hear it?

I hate shik shak shok.

It may have something to do with a terrible rendition of it I have on video that scarred me for life. A'isha do you remember this? I showed it to you when you came to IL a couple of years ago. The guy who did ballet, cartwheels, and sword to shik shak shok?

Default Worst BD song?

That "Kiss Kiss" song by Tarkan. It was really popular in this area when it first came out and there are people who still dance to it!

That "Engrish Bwudd" Mann-mann song or whatever that Rachel Brice taught EVERYWHERE! AAAAKKKKKK!!! IF I NEVER hear that again, I will die happy.

I love Shik Shak Shok!!! But you know, I have NEVER seen this performed at area workshops/haflas. Maybe that's why. Didn't somebody perform it for an IAMED or ICMED concert once?

I got to the point where I hated Chicky, Derwood Green, Kiss Kiss, Ojos Asi, and pretty much anything from Pentaphobe. But I haven't seen a Derwood Green performance in a long time, so I can tolerate it again. And Chicky is great to set on repeat and play REALLY LOUD when it's 2 in the morning and you're on the interstate trying to get home before you fall asleep.

One thing I'm truly sick of is Azon's Bellydancer song (not Middle Eastern, but pop/r&B).

I hate most of what the Tribal Fusion girls seem to be dancing to. I love the feel of it, and like the look sometimes, but I hate industrial music.

I'm starting to hate "hips don't lie" by Shakira because every ignorant girl with a too big ego seems to dance to it in her bedroom.

But well, it's strictly spoken not a BD song, so I don't know if this one counts.

Any and all Shakira songs that are supposed to have ME flavor, except for Ojos Así, which I can still listen to ocassionally. I quite liked her music before she made the crossover to the English-speaking market - personally, I think it just about ruined her completely and took everything that was fresh and authentic and likeable about her and her songs - at least that's how I feel when think about her early years.

As for real Middle-Eastern music... I can't really recall any song that really sets my teeth on edge... I don't much like most pop, generally, but then, I don't much like a lot of western pop either. I only really dislike it when they take a perfectly nice song and ruin it with keyboards and synthetizers - urgh.
