You haven't tried any classes yet? Go for it. It can be a bit intimidating walking into a room with other Ladies who all appear to know what they are doing. But their still learning too. Everyone's at different levels. From Beginners to advanced.
I took a class yesterday and I was the new girl on the block. I had Butterflies in my tummy and was so nervous. The style was totally new to me, a totally new genre, and yeah I was NERVOUS (and a little intimidated) these beautiful dancers all new what they were doing!!!
I thought OH Well there is only one way I'm going to learn and I jumped in!!!
And it was one of the most awesome experiences I have had with Bellydance I Loved it!!!! The teacher was awesome, and the girls were loads of fun!!
CrossEyed I have been BellyDancing for 11 years, and I teach this beautiful art, and yet I still had butterflies........... the nerve's do go...
Take the chance, I think you are going to absolutely Love It!!!!

I love Bellydance, and have been dancing for quite a while now.
