Thank you for your pm, Anisteph. You are a treasure, and I'm so glad to know you.

As for deleting the message here, I don't know, maybe it is something I ought to talk about on the forum, but I don't know how proper that would be. If it's all right with you, I think for now I'll leave the message up. If anyone else wanders in here, perhaps at least some will understand why I got upset a bit better.

Thank you again for being so kind---you are a lovely person with a good heart.

*hugs* Thank you, Anisteph. I'm still here, although I came very close to quitting the forum. Not wanting to let Salome down kept me from it, though. I'm going to take it easy and just visit the forums that don't normally incite heated arguments, and just stay away from the other potentially volatile forums for the time being.

I'm sorry about reacting so hastily; it was a gut reaction. It just got to the point where I'd had enough. I had to grow up listening to alcoholic adults fight and abuse one another, so that's why conflict is so very hard for me to deal with to this day.

I'm sorry, Anisteph, I don't know what else to say after revealing that personal bit of info.

Just think, you could be as *good* as Mia Serra after her six-week course!

    Hi Aniseteph!
Thank you for your e-mail. I must say I love your avatar. I may steal your theme to create one of my own.
I finally succumbed and went skating today. It seems I am not very "insurable", so I am just going to wear wrist guards and have some savings in the bank in case i break something and can't work.

I studied Arabic in the '70s at the time of the oil crisis. At the time< I was at Georgetown and it was the thing to do. The fad passed, but since I tend to be obsessive, I hung on in so many weird ways that the truth of my story is stranger than fiction. Usually folks don't believe me, so I have taken to saying in a fake German accent, "If I told you, I would have to kill you."
So I have reached that point in my life where I am living like a typical middle-aged divorced woman, Irish mum to three young men, and enjoying a bit of glitter after a long hard road. I am dreaming of going on a trip to Egypt with a belly dance teacher and students and helping with interpreting/translating. Haven't been to Egypt in almost 30 years.
If you want some more laughs, go to the thread, "Egyptian fun". I almost sprayed coffee over my keyboard.
I am finding that this forum is giving me more belly laughs than I have had in years.
    Hugs,
    DWB
