what is it?

a book with lots of photos of people dancing?

I am scared to look to be honest, the titles were enough to send me running to the hills in despair...

Sacred feminine... what that?

yeah i saw that and the immediate image that came to me was a group of women with candles in hand or on their head dancing to some mother goddess.

Thumbs up scared feminine

It is a book that visually shows the beauty of belly dancing and the beaty of the women performing. The book has several very well know belly dancers. It is really a beautiful book. I would have a look at it before you jump to any conclusions.

From what I've seen online and in the YouTube clip that shows some shots from the book, (maybe someone can post the link?), this is a GORGEOUS collection of BEAUTIFULLY photographed dancers from OUR community...with quotes from dancers about the dance...don't be so quick to judge ANY book by it's cover ladies...

It wouldn't be a coffee table book without florid language...not that anyone *reads* coffee table books, they just look at the pictures.

I agree, If I had the money i absolutely would buy it, I saw this advertised about a year ago and have desired the book ever since.

I don't know why everyone freaks out at the word 'Goddess' or sacred. I think because of the fluff bunny stuff everyone begins to think that it is all related. I have seen the word Goddess used to just describe women in their glory also Sacred feminine.... are we not all sacred beings??

Are we not all Goddesses in our own right? It is a descriptive term ladies. I notice it is ladies who tend to get all antsy about such words LOL! I just don't believe everytime it is used it means Goddess religions, but refers to women in general!

use of language is very important for selling, and people choose their words deliberately.

These words mean a whole lot of 'cheese' to me, and the worst stereotypical images.

Perhaps it is cultural? I know plenty of people who would run in the opposite direction when hearing these phrases, no matter what way they were intended.

If people want 'wide appeal' then they should choose their words carefully.
